Founder’s Message

Thank you for visiting the CyberAgent, Inc. website. CyberAgent is the operator of “Ameba,” one of leading Internet media services in Japan. We are a comprehensive Internet services company with one of the highest levels of sales in Japan’s Internet advertising market.

The Internet business in which we compete has changed markedly in recent years with the rapid spread of smartphones. Smartphone shipments account for 56.8% of all mobile phone shipments*, more than half the total, and the transition to smartphones is expected to accelerate. CyberAgent was one of the first companies to focus on the rapidly growing smartphone market, concentrating on expanding smartphone advertising, and broadening smartphone services. The business has grown as a result, and smartphone-related services now account for more than 40% of our revenue.

In June 2012 we launched the new Ameba, a community and game SNS for smartphones. This platform offers various community services not available elsewhere, as well as numerous social games only possible with smartphones. We currently have as many as 90 projects for smartphone services currently in development or operation. We will continue to bring out more enjoyable services for users, and work to provide services that make Ameba “the service to use with smartphones.”

CyberAgent has built its business around the Internet, and has a vision to “become a company that is a hallmark of the 21st century,” with a significant influence on society and consumers in this growth industry. We aim to continue to be a venture firm with consistently strong growth, to provide consumers with easy-to-use, optimal services, and to gain the support of society through an emphasis on compliance.
